 The Role 
 Westwood Farms is seeking a Controller to establish and lead our in-house accounting and financial function. This role marks a pivotal shift from an outsourced model to internal ownership, creating a stronger, more responsive financial foundation for the business. 
 You&#8217;ll take full ownership of accounting operations, bringing clarity, structure, and discipline to core processes, while also supporting leadership with insights that drive better decisions. This role requires someone who is both hands-on and strategic, comfortable operating in ambiguity, building from the ground up, and creating scalable solutions that evolve with the business. 
 This is not a traditional Controller role. It blends technical accounting leadership with forward-looking financial partnership and offers significant autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to grow alongside the company. 
 Core Responsibilities 
 
 Establish and transition accounting operations in-house 
 Own day-to-day accounting, monthly close, and financial reporting 
 Build clean, reliable, and scalable processes and controls 
 Strengthen cash management and cash flow visibility 
 Improve the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of financial data 
 Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning 
 Reduce reliance on external providers and streamline workflows 
 Develop internal capability for transactional accounting support 
 Partner with leadership to provide actionable financial insights

 We have an immediate need for a specialized Senior Accountant, Inventory &#38; Cost to take ownership of our complex accounting operations. This role is a critical bridge between our finance, operations, and supply chain teams.&#xa0;This mid-level role is designed for someone who wants broad ownership in a scaling finance function. &#xa0;We are searching for someone with cost accounting experience, specifically managing Bills of Materials (BoMs), Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) workflows, warranty allocations, and hardware asset capitalization.&#xa0; 
 Reporting to our Controller and operating as an individual contributor with high visibility across the organization, this role will be instrumental in implementing a new inventory management system and building out our inventory accounting processes along with other key cost accounting operations. 
 Key Responsibilities: 
 
 Translate complex cost accounting variances into clear, actionable narratives for non-finance stakeholders 
 Capitalize shipped inventory with appropriate treatment of shipping, labor, and overhead costs 
 Own fixed assets and intangibles: depreciation, capitalization, and disposals 
 Observe inventory counts and verify inventory returns 
 Ensure Bills of Materials (BoMs) are current and accurately reflected in the ERP 
 Validate supply chain data 
 Convert RMAs back into inventory, allocate RMA costs to warranty, and manage warranty accruals 
 Monitor and manage shipping cost recapture 
 Manage SG&#38;A accounting, payroll entries, and payroll tax and compliance reporting 
 Track and explain margin performance and cost variances across the business 
 Prepare and record prepaids, accruals, and department cost allocations 
 Partner with leadership to support FP&#38;A: budget cycles, scenario modeling, and data-driven insights 
 
 Required Qualifications:&#xa0; 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience 
 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years of cost accounting in manufacturing, hardware, or hardware-enabled SaaS 
 Technical expertise in inventory valuation, BoMs, RMA workflows, and hardware asset capitalization
