The Senior Accountant is responsible for daily, weekly and monthly financial accounting tasks and activities designed to maintain an accurate system of accounting records in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Address tight deadlines and a multitude of financial accounting activities, as assigned.
Assist Controller with month-end financial close process.
Remain knowledgeable of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and their applicability to the company.
Work with Controller to ensure proper internal controls are in place and maintained.
Analyze cost variance accounts and standard cost updates.
Analyze and apply overhead costs to Build of Materials (BOM).
Report on periodic cost variances and their causes; ongoing gross margin analysis.
Operate with integrity in all assignments.
Other duties, as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required)
2-5 years of accounting experience in public accounting or cost accounting in a lean/continuous improvement manufacturing environment
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end close process
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Experience with Microsoft GP Dynamics (preferred)
Interpersonal communication skills with an emphasis on collaboration
Proactive planning, consistency and time management abilities
Meticulous attention to detail
