PacifiCorp is hiring a Finance/Accounting Specialist.
General Purpose Acts as subject matter expert for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, providing advice and counsel to management and internal clients and coordinating with internal and external audit functions, as well as PacifiCorpâ™s corporate compliance office. Conducts special studies and analyses, develops alternatives, presents recommendations to management and influences management decisions regarding internal control over financial reporting. Researches, analyzes, develops and implements new strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external conditions, including with respect to the finance component of PacifiCorpâ™s information security management system.
Coordinate all SOX compliance efforts for multiple and diverse business functions.
Coordinate and monitor PacifiCorpâ™s SOX quarterly self-assessment and certification process. Evaluate internal control deficiencies, assist with development of remediation plans and perform related implementation and monitoring.
Act as key liaison with internal and external auditors for internal control matters.
Implement changes to internal controls to maintain SOX compliance as processes change or evolve.
Guide and advise business process and control owners in the creation and maintenance of required flowcharts, narratives, control self-assessments and other documentation required to ensure SOX compliance.
Conduct process assessments, evaluate controls, establish improvements and perform special projects.
Coordinate and monitor SOX fraud risk assessments.
Perform reviews of Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 18 System and Organization Controls reports provided by PacifiCorpâ™s key service organizations.
Act as subject matter expert and coordinator for the finance aspects of PacifiCorpâ™s information security management system in conjunction with PacifiCorpâ™s corporate compliance office.
Consult, resolve and/or recommend alternatives to internal customer issues which may be critical, complex, sensitive or urgent in nature.
Manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines to ensure adherence to project timelines and critical review dates.
Communicate and work with all levels of the organization, including executive management, in order to achieve quarterly and annual compliance deliverables.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) framework
A minimum of five yearsâ™ experience in accounting or a related field.
A strong working knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to establish trust, maintain confidence, and understand social behavior and interactions.
Ability to work with all organizational levels, and to influence actions and negotiate outcomes.
Ability to listen and communicate effectively through oral and written means.
Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member, to maintain project timelines and deliver on commitments.
Proficient with the use of software applications to gather, analyze, and summarize data.
General understanding of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Code of Regulations.
General understanding of utility economics and accounting, as well as utility commission rules and regulations.
Experience with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001 standards.
